Adugna is a law graduate from Addis Ababa University with a strong interest in corporate law, litigation,
intellectual property, Investment and financial laws. He gained valuable experience during his externship at
Heineken Breweries S.C. (Heineken Ethiopia), a renowned leader in the beverage industry. During his time there, he acquired hands-on experience with the legal aspects of a leading corporate entity. This experience has equipped him with a strong understanding of the legal frameworks that govern the business operations of corporations.
Adugna actively engaged in various extracurricular activities during his time at law school. He was awarded a certificate upon successful completion of a 10-week online training course titled: Fundamentals of Capital
Market Development – A Focus on the Ethiopian Context,” provided by the Florida University Southeast School of Professional Studies.
Drafted a legal memorandum and successfully incorporated a Private Limited Company (PLC) for a local client in Ethiopia.
Advised a foreign company on the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Ethiopia.
Assisted in intellectual Property matters including writing letters and filling applications and appeals for Trademarks Patents and Industrial Designs.
Provided guidance on severance pay and employee compensation structures under Ethiopian labor law.
Conducted legal due diligence for various transactions and compliance matters.
Counseled clients on compliance with Ethiopian foreign exchange regulations.
Drafted various legal agreements including employment, surety, service and education contracts.
