Overview

Eyosias Dessalegn is a law graduate of Addis Ababa University with hands-on experience in intellectual
property, commercial litigation and energy and mining law. His background includes roles as an assistant
attorney and an apprenticeship at the FDRE Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, where he deepened his expertise in Ethiopia’s legal frameworks, particularly in mineral and petroleum regulations. Currently, at
Dablo, he specialises in intellectual property and technology law while actively contributing to corporate
advisory, Energy, Mining and transactional matters.

Involved as opinion setter and advisor for the Ministry in a mining exploration license dispute between the FDRE Ministry of Mines and a licensee, where the exploration investment exceeded USD 150 thousand (ETB 18.6 million) and mining assets valued at over USD 50million (ETB 6.2 billion).

Company Compliance Policies

Developed comprehensive anti-corruption, labour and environmental policies for a major coffee exporter, ensuring EUDR compliance and ethical standards, and the continued functioning of a Major coffee export player.

Client

In a matter concerning a lawyer's fee valued at USD 25 thousand (ETB 2.8 million).

Due Dilligence

Advised a Large foreign firm on enforcing an arbitral award against an oil exploration company, by conducting a comprehensive due diligence to confirm the target entity's legal identity and operational status for effective enforcement.

Client

In a trademark assignment agreement with a clause of USD 5 thousand (ETB 500 thousand) in remuneration and as part of a continuation of an import trade deal worth millions in USD.

Regulatory Advice

Advised a multinational pharmaceutical and soap manufacturer on safeguarding its industrial properties in Ethiopia, including analysis of the local regulatory framework and strategic remedies for potential IP violations or damages caused by its local partner.

A Foreign Company Registration

Involved in solar power generation under a tripartite project company agreement, with a UNHCR bid award received as part of its registration.

Client representation

Involved as an assistant attorney in a Usufruct suit worth millions in ETB, at the regional Supreme courts for a Notable multinational company.
