Yoseph Genene is a corporate lawyer based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, specialising in corporate, commercial, and investment law. Yoseph is highly skilled in facilitating company formation for foreign investors, efficiently navigating the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) and the Ministry of Revenue (MOR) to obtain investment permits, tax identification numbers (TIN), and minimum capital approvals. As an Associate, he assists clients with corporate governance matters and guides organisations through statutory liquidation and dissolution proceedings. He is also recognised for his labour and immigration practice, developing HR policies to ensure compliance with the Ethiopian Labour Proclamation, drafting bilingual (Amharic/English) employment contracts, and advising expatriates on visas, work permits, and resident IDs.
Before joining DABLO Law Firm, Yoseph served as an Associate at MTA Law Office, where he handled queries from multinational clients on Ethiopian law and honed his litigation, arbitration, and court document–drafting skills. He also developed a strong foundation in legal research, advocacy, and policy through work with civil society and human rights organisations.
As advisor, provided comprehensive guidance on Ethiopia’s Investment Proclamation, structuring foreign direct investments, joint ventures, and profit repatriation while navigating applicable incentives and restrictions.
